Shopping at Home Depot… a confession.

It’s not that serious…or is it? I tell you what, I’ve heard a lot of drama about supporting the big box stores and buying plants from anywhere but the locals is definitely considered faux paus. I get it. I’m usually not a fan, but in THIS CASE, The Home Depot was where it was at. Literally. We went to two other local nurseries trying to find herbs for this shoot and sadly, there was just nothing. One had the herbs and veggies on sale for ONE CENT. You can imagine what those looked like. Not the most photographable. It’s not necessarily their fault, seeing as our “garden season” is apparently over here? But wait…is it? I live smack dab in the middle of California where we’re blessed with one of the longest growing seasons possible. So how is it that we’re “done” offering herbs to local gardeners by early June? I honestly don’t know. I’m sure there’s a lot more to it than I understand BUT ALL THAT BEING SAID, we found everything we needed for this project at the good old orange logo’d store with everything you need to “get more done”, and boy did we.

She’s a beaut and I can’t wait to wait her fill in and get fluffier and prettier as the days get longer and we start sipping on some Lavender Lemonade…cause you know that’s happening next.
