Happy Launch Day!
It may look simple enough but this website has been 6 months in the making and I’m so happy and excited to be sharing it with the WORLD today! First and foremost, I have to thank my family and a few close friends who have been instrumental in getting us to this point. I couldn’t have done it without their love, patience (lots of it), and support. There’s a lot of self-doubt that goes into throwing things like this out for the public to see and it’s taken a lot of encouraging to get me here.
To say that this year has been crazy is an understatement of extraordinary proportions. Everyone in the world has now been affected by COVID-19 in some way or another and it’s insane to think we decided to start a business one month before it all went down. There have been many, many times when I have thought to myself “this was a mistake” or “what are we doing?!” (can I admit that it happens like once a day?) but even in the midst of this chaos, our family has been blessed. 2020 is the year of silver linings, for sure.
We opened our LLC on February 1st, 2020, about a month before the whole world shut down. Not the greatest timing. However, something happened when everyone started working from home. They wanted to make their homes their havens and started putting a lot more time and effort into the feel of their humble (or not) abodes. The nurseries were packed and selling out every weekend and “Victory Gardens” became popular again as people started to feel the pressure of not being able to go to the store and see the value in growing things themselves.
At this point, things really took off for us. We had to hit the ground sprinting to keep up with the instantaneous flow of projects coming in this spring. I have worked long hours and juggled all the things for the last few months to get here, as have many others. It has been the year of adjusting, changing, letting go of certain things we can’t control, and trying to keep our sanity in the process. Through it all, we have seen phenomenal things and had opportunities laid out for us that I don’t know would’ve happened without COVID. Strange but true.
The one thing I know for sure is that there’s a culmination of events that happens for each of us in life…moments where everything lines up just right and you have to make a decision. Usually a very hard, uncertain, disruptive, unpopular decision. But as the great Eminem once said “ You only get one shot, do not miss your chance to blow, this opportunity comes once in a lifetime.” We chose to take that leap back in February, and so much has already happened that there’s no turning back now. Thank you all for being here and supporting us in this journey. There are SO many exciting things to come and I’m so, so grateful.
