Summer Patio Planters

I am anti-mosquito, pro-eating, and all for the lowest maintenance possible. Here are a few tips for these containers:

I used a really high-quality potting soil for this and a good, solid container because I don’t want to have to mess with it too much down the road. The planters are from Target, but they’re ceramic, not plastic. Longevity is good so we can continue to use this year after year!

The plants are all from The Home Depot! Lemon balm (I bought one and split it in half), English Lavender, and Lemongrass…the 3 L’s! All mosquito repellant but also edible (truly my favorite part) and perennial which just means they’ll keep coming back year after year with good maintenance.

As this grows, you can use all three plants however you’d like in the kitchen (tons of recipes out there and some coming from me soon!) but if you decide not to or it gets neglected, just cut some of it back to gift or toss/compost so it doesn’t get too out of control.

I absolutely love this combo and am SO excited for you to see it all mature because it’s going to be a truly show-stopping patio container by the end of summer if everything goes to plan. 🤩

Practical, functional, beautiful…it’s what we do!
